MarkupMarvel is opening 2 Laravel Developer Intern positions for people who’ve learned Laravel and PHP but haven’t had the opportunity to apply it on a real, live project. This 6-month unpaid internship gives you genuine backend development experience — working on actual client APIs, database structures, and business logic under senior developer guidance.

What You’ll Do

• Build backend features and API endpoints using Laravel for real client projects
• Work with MySQL databases — designing schemas, writing queries, optimising performance
• Debug and fix issues on live project codebases
• Learn how Laravel connects to frontend systems like Next.js and WordPress via APIs
• Follow coding standards and participate in code reviews with senior developers
• Document your work clearly for team handoff

Requirement

• Completed coursework or self-study in Laravel and PHP
• Basic understanding of MySQL and relational databases
• Willingness to learn production-level backend development practices
• Reliable internet connection and consistent availability
• Genuine interest in backend development as a career path

Nice to Have

• A personal project built with Laravel, even a simple CRUD application
• Basic understanding of REST APIs
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub
